Prof. Boateng’s allegation of galamsey at Jubilee House affirmed by AlJazeera’s latest story – MP

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak, is asking if the allegations by Prof. Frimpong Boateng that some top officials at the Jubilee House were involved in illegal mining make sense now to Ghanaians.
The MP says the latest four-part investigative piece by Aljazeera on the alleged gold smuggling activities has given credence to what the former Environment Minister said.
Ghana has been implicated together with Zimbabwe in a four-part investigative documentary series, has of gold smuggling and money laundering syndicates in.
The series produced by Aljazera had undercover journalists pose as Chinese gangsters.
The investigators engaged Alistair Mathias, a self-described “Financial Architect” who has a track record of successfully orchestrating such syndicates.
According to Mathias, he had executed similar schemes in Ghana and claimed to be good friends with President Akufo-Addo.
He also alleged that Mr. Akufo-Addo used to be his lawyer.
He also revealed in the series that some politicians in the country help him and his associates keep their smuggled resources safe.

He explained that the politicians involved do not keep assets in their own names but rely on proxies, with Mathias taking tenders, road construction, procurement, and supplying different things.
Dr. Apaak believes the most recent exposé confirms what the former Minister claimed.
Prof. Frimpong Boateng recently made headlines when he claimed that some government officials, including Jubilee House, are involved in galamsey.
In an interview with state broadcaster GBC, the former Minister explained that some of these people oversaw his removal from the Ministry in order to keep the canker alive.
