Sir Alex Ferguson has shared his first words on Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr in the winter transfer window.
Ronaldo began the 2022-23 season on the books of Manchester United but saw his fairytale return to his old stomping grounds come to an unceremonious end.
His exit, which rendered him clubless during the World Cup, was birthed from his explosive interview in which he took aim at prominent figures at the club.
Since then, the 38-year-old has swapped Europe for the Middle East, signing a deal with Al-Nassr until 2025 and will receive the biggest salary in the history of the game, per GOAL.

He has since taken to the Saudi Pro League like duck to water, scoring eight goals and contributing with two assists in five matches.
Assessing the performance of Ronaldo, his ‘football son’, the veteran manager expressed joy with his performance while commending what he has brought to the table at Al-Nassr.
“I was pleased with what I saw of the always loyal and creative son Cristiano Ronaldo and what he has presented with his new team Al-Nassr,” the 81-year-old former coach said as quoted by CristianoXtra.
Ronaldo hails Ferguson’s influence
Cristiano Ronaldo was a relatively unknown teenager when he arrived at Manchester United in 2003, even though he showed glimpses of the talent that seemed obvious from the beginning, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Veteran manager Sir Alex Ferguson put in a lot of effort to transform the boy into a man, and by the time he was leaving Man United six years later, Ronaldo had won everything with United and also had a Ballon d’Or.
In an interview with Livescore, the brand he is an ambassador for, the striker acknowledged and applauded Sir Alex’s influence on his career and helping him reach the heights he has.
Ruthless Ronaldo nets hattrick again
Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo notched his second hatttick in a first-half goal blitz for Al-Nassr against Damac on Saturday.
He broke the game’s deadlock via an 18th minute penalty, then continued his menacing form in front of goal with a sizzling finish when he was put through on goal by Al Ghannam.
Ronaldo will score his personal and team’s third of the afternoon when he rifled a strike into the roof of the net after he was teed up by a teammate before halftime.
