Former Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu was tragically killed in a devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6th.
Atsu, who was only 31 years old, was one of the numerous people who perished in the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that shattered and ravaged cities.
A team led by Pastor Kwame Ayew has been sent by Liberian President George Oppong Weah, a former professional footballer himself, to offer condolences and make a $10,000 donation to Atsu’s family.
The team visited the Twasam family and conveyed Weah’s sincere condolences for their loss.
Atsu’s remains were brought to Ghana on Sunday via a cargo plane. His one week observation has been set for March 4, 2023.
