Busia had two objectives and a supplementary third.
First, he was seeking the help of the Americans to stop Nkrumah in his tracks before he turned Ghana into a STRONGHOLD OF COMMUNISM in Africa.
With reference to massive newspaper publications and clips and other materials, he urged Congress to do everything possible to stop and overthrow Nkrumah.
Two, that the US should withdraw from participating in the Akosombo Dam project because Nkrumah was going to use it to GLORIFY COMMUNISM
Thirdly, that Nkrumah’s links to Russia (Soviet Union) and China ought to be curtailed.
His first request was approved culminating in the 1966 coup.
The second was rejected… because US claimed that the project was in the strategic interest of the US in Ghana…so it would go ahead with the project, but Nkrumah would not be allowed to manage it.
US currently working on the third… stopping China and Russia in Africa.
Remember, Nkrumah commissioned the Akosombo Dam in January 22, 1966..by February 24, 1966 he was out of office.
Just one month… so Nkrumah didn’t have the time to supervise the implementation of the industrialization agenda which was the main purpose for the Akosombo DAM.
The management of the Akosombo Dam fell into the hands of the military junta and their civilian collaborators and traitors led by the same Busia who didn’t have the slightest idea about industrialization and essence of the project…a project they had dismissed as COMMUNIST.
I have given the link to Busia’s traitorous testimony below….a 165 voluminous page publication. It detailed the extent to which the BUSIA/DANQUAH activists would go in engaging and reporting Africans they disagree with to the US led western hegemons.
We have heard and seen the Akufo-Addo reporting Russians in Burkina Faso to the US. Listening to the video clip, Akopy stated how he had already testified in Congress like Busia did.
I have provided the information on Busia. And that of JB Danquah’s treasonous flirtations with the CIA will follow…so you understand the pattern of behaviour of this political tradition.
Reporting Burkina Faso to the US about Russia was business as usual, so far as the Busia-Danquah tradition is concerned.
